2025 August 5 - Mowing the grass - Missouri Caves and Karst Conservancy

Renard Ellis, a prior CCC member, contacted me on July 29th. He had seen my trip report concerning grass cutting at Carroll on July 26. I had delivered our repaired electric mower to the campground and Nathan, Sara, and Ben Taylor and I spent the day attempting to cut the grass and brush inside our 1.5 acre fenced area. The grass was tall, and the electric mower ran out of charge after cutting less than half of the property. I was considering hauling my bigger mower down, but Renard made me a better offer! He lives near Richland and has the equipment to do the job. On Aug 5, 2025 Renard spent over six hours mowing and cutting the brush. From the before and after photos he provided (attached here) you can see he did an excellent job! We owe Renard a big Thank You!
Hopefully we can keep the grass under control with our electric mower and weed whip. Renard thinks we are going to need bigger equipment, and he may be correct. Time will tell.
